"Ford Loses $14.6 Billion in 2008, Taps More Credit to Avoid Federal Bailout"

The claim that was being made here is that the "Ford Motor Company" lost 14.6 billion last year. With this major change, ford has declined help from the federal bailout plan and continued cutting staff and ties with other companies. ford is currently looking for a purchaser. Without that they will continue to decline and even may have difficulties to continue sustaining Jaguar/Land rover or even mass producing as they did in the past. In addition to this, the upside is the Ford did not have to pay any dividends this term, hence causing stock holders to not gain and the Ford family to still have some revenue in their hands.
They type of claim is a fact. Ford has delcined over the past years in business and is struggling to even compete in today's new car market. As proven in the past, Ford motors in not a reliable or dependent vehicle that one can own for a long time or even a company that presents a good product.
The type of appeal that is being used is ethos. According to Motor Trend, a company which studies, evaluates, and analyzes vehicles for the past years, their analyst have been watching Ford for years and as many other sources, they all agree the Ford's quality is on a steady decline and as well as loosing business from the average family that uses a vehicle for transportation from "point A to B."
